I want to live in a community where I am supported and loved.
We are all so disconnected right now. Everyone is on their own.
Everyone is struggling.
We all speak, but no one talks.
As I walked along the beach, my dear friend said to me:
“I want to live in a community where I am supported and loved. We are all living apart. Everyone is on their own. Everyone is struggling.”
And it hit me deeply, because it is true.
They used to say it takes a village to raise a baby.
I want to bring that village back.
I will build it from the ground up if I have to.
We have watched our small businesses disappear.
Our book shops, post offices, corner shops, banks, pubs, all vanishing at an alarming rate.
The other day I had to drive into town just to pay in some cash.
The queue at the post office was backed up to the door and everyone looked tired and cranky.
The woman in front of me had three dogs and kept yanking on their choke chains.
No one spoke.
No one smiled.
The only eye contact was a quick frown from the woman behind me, perhaps at the dogs, perhaps at me. It did not matter. The whole place felt heavy.
This is not what community is supposed to look like.
They fool us into thinking we live in a convenience filled world,
when really, convenience has cost us connection.
So… what does sitting in circle mean to me?
Being surrounded by like minded souls.
Lifting each other up.
Supporting and loving each other.
It does not matter what our background is or what history we carry.
What matters is that we showed up and that we are here, holding space for one another.
We sip the same Mama Cacao medicine.
We inhale the same beautiful aromas.
We share the sacred indoor outdoor space.
Together we experience the seasons.
We immerse ourselves in nature as the garden holds us and nurtures us.
There is no judgement here.
Only love, healing, and compassion.
Our intentions are pure.
We come together, we have a wonderful time, and we share something truly magical.
We learn something new.
We hear words that touch our hearts.
Somewhere along the years, our communities got lost.
They were torn apart.
To me, community is stepping out of my front door and walking to the post office, smiling and saying good morning to everyone I pass.
Community is seeing a sister in the queue who is struggling and gently asking if she is okay.
Asking her if she needs help.
Connection is that simple.
It is time we took our village back.
They can take away our small businesses,
but they will never take away our love and compassion.
If you feel the call to reconnect…
If you feel the call to reconnect, to soften, to return to something more real and heart led, come sit with us.
Our ceremonies are a space to be held, seen, and supported, just as you are.
This is how we rebuild the village.
Together.
